Overview
Our pricing reflects certified craftsmanship, professional preparation, and the level of detail required for each project. Because every firearm, component, and custom item is unique, final quotes may vary based on condition, complexity, quantity, and requested finish, engraving or service required. Below is a general pricing guide to help you understand typical ranges.
- Shop Rate: $125/hour Applied to repairs, diagnostics, detailed prep work, design setup, and any project requiring time based labor.
- Quantity Pricing: Some Cerakote and laser engraving projects involve multiple parts. Per-part pricing may decrease with higher quantities, depending on complexity and setup requirements.
- Setup Fees: Certain projects—especially custom engraving, artwork creation, or multipart Cerakote jobs—may require a setup or design fee to prepare files, fixtures, or part staging.
Cerakote Pricing
Cerakote offers nearly limitless applications across industries—including 3D Printing, Aerospace, Archery, Automotive, Bicycles, Defense, Electronics, Fishing, Fitness, Industrial Coatings, Kitchen & Bath, Laser Imaging, Marine, Medical Devices, Oil & Gas, and Restoration. At Howell Cerakote & Laser LLC, we are certified to apply ALL Cerakote coatings to meet the specific demands of your project.
Cerakote pricing depends on Cerakote product being applied, color choice, pattern complexity, part condition, and the amount of prep work required. All coatings include proper degreasing, media blasting, masking, and controlled curing for maximum durability. Final Cerakote pricing may include the cost of any required assembly or disassembly, and with firearms this is necessary to verify that each firearm functions properly before work begins. Howell Cerakote and Laser LLC will not perform services on any firearm that is unsafe or fails a function check. After reassembly, we conduct a second function check to ensure proper operation.

Cerakote Finishing Notes
- Extra Polish charges may apply if the product has rust or pitting.
- Cerakote will not fill pitting and/or scratches in the product.
- Howell Cerakote & Laser LLC. Is not responsible for the function of your firearm if customer elects to assemble or disassemble the firearm themselves.
- Any loose parts shipped to Howell Cerakote & Laser LLC. for Cerakoting must be accompanied by an inventory list.
- Howell Cerakote & Laser LLC. will not Cerakote the internal moving parts of your firearm. The firearm was designed with specific tolerances for fit and function and may not operate properly if Cerakote is applied.
Laser Engraving Pricing
Laser engraving pricing is determined by material type, artwork complexity, engraving depth, setup requirements, and the actual run time of the laser. Highly detailed or intricate projects can require 20+ hours of machine run time. Multipart jobs may qualify for reduced per piece rates, and design fees may apply when custom artwork creation is needed.

Performed by a Certified Gunsmith and Certified Red Dot Sight Installer. Pricing reflects professional handling, precision installation, and safety checks.
